In Memoriam: Don Irwin
*August 06, 2008 05:51 pm— Don Irwin, 62, of Perry, the son of William Henry and Helen Edwina (Youells) Irwin, was born June 23, 1946, in Stillwater and died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Integris Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.
On April 12, 1969, Don married Gail Louise Klein in Cincinnati, Ohio. Don served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and 1973-1975.
He received BA from Ohio University in March 1969 and BS from the University of Cincinnati in December 1973. Don was a systems analyst/programmer for Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education in Stillwater until he retired in 2003.
He had been a member of Stagecoach Community Theatre since 1975 and was charter organizer of United Scottish Clans of Oklahoma in 1984.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ed Cook will officiate. Services are under direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.

Don is survived by his wife, Gail Irwin; two sons, W.S. Whitney Irwin and his wife, Holly, of Ledyard, Conn. and Quinn A. Irwin of Sapulpa; two grandchildren, Conor Irwin and Gretchen Irwin of Ledyard, Conn.; and one sister, Harriet Young of Wichita, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William H. Irwin Jr.; and one sister, Katherine Welch.
